ROBERTS, RICHARD L. "DICK," 77
ROBERTS, RICHARD L. "DICK," 77, of Rockford, Ill., passed away December 11, after a short illness; his family was at his side. Dick was born April 7, 1933, in Orange, the son of Wesley and Mabel (Gauthier) Roberts. He grew up in East Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1953. After graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and upon his discharge he returned to Vermont where he married Dorothy A. Gregoire Sept. 1, 1956, in Barre. They immediately moved to Chicago where Dick attended DeVry Technical School. Dick moved to Rockford in 1974, and opened Columbia Audio/Video. He enjoyed electronics, fishing, camping and sailing. His sense of humor, love of life and spending time with his family will be sorely missed. Dick is survived by five children, Greg (Lori), Mike (Ann), David (Diane) and Kathy (Jerry) Lister, all of Rockford and Julie Walker of Greeley, Colo.; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers Dennis (Montpelier), Kelly (Barre), Eugene (Sellersville, Pa.), Larry (Wetumpka, Ala.); and the mother of his children, Dorothy Roberts. He was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth and David Roberts.
