Blakeman 50th Anniversary
Alan and Joanne Blakeman, of Montpelier, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren at the Basin Harbor Club on Lake Champlain. The weekend event was attended by Jennifer and Michael Barlow with their sons Alan and George, Patty and Chris Turley with their children Peter and Alyssa, Chelsea Hall, Judy and Lane McElree with daughter Sarah, Derek Blakeman and Heidi Einolf.
The couple were married on August 13, 1960 at Bethany Church in Montpelier. At the time of their wedding, they were both teachers at Montpelier High School, where Mr. Blakeman continued on the faculty until his retirement in 1995. Mrs. Blakeman left teaching in 1962 to raise their family, and worked most recently at Community College of Vermont.
