Shame on McCain
(by Gemma Philcox, Barre - September 03, 2008)

What a pity! It seems that John McCain, at one time highly respected and regarded as a straight and honest talker, is doing something much worse than what he is smearing Barack Obama with. That is, willing to lose something in order to win the election. In Obama's case, McCain accuses him of being wiling to love "the war" (invasion?) in order to win the election. Well, what McCain is doing is, to me, even worse. He is obviously willing to lose his once fine reputation and well-earned respect in order to win the election.
Listening to his Republican campaign managers, and running nothing but a purely negative campaign full of innuendos and proven lies, proves that he is the last one anyone should elect to the high office of President of the United States. He is patterning himself on the one he is trying to replace, lying and doing and saying anything, no matter how despicable, in order to get his way. In Bush's case, it was starting an uncalled-for invasion of a country that had done nothing to the United States to warrant that action. In McCain's case it is winning the election.
Shame on you, Senator John McCain!!! What happened to that respected, honest man who once placed loyalty and love for his country above everything else?

I don't see what McCain is lying about. All McCain stating is that he would rather lose the presidency, than to loss the war. All he was saying is that he cares more about the country and the troops than his own political gain. I find that admirable and a sign of a true leader. |
