ABAR, DONALD ELBERT, 65


ABAR, DONALD ELBERT, 65, died January 25 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. He had been a resident there for the past three years. Born in Randolph, May 23, 1944, he was the son of Daniel and Beulah (Towne) Abar and had attended Northfield High School. In earlier years he had worked as an auto mechanic and a truck driver. Bowling, fishing and scenic drives were special times. He served with the U. S. Army as a driver and mechanic. He was stationed in Korea and Germany. He had been affiliated with the Methodist Church in Northfield and belonged to the Barre Moose Lodge #1391. Survivors include his mother, Beulah Abar of North Barre Manor, two sisters; Linda Riley of Lake Placid, Fla. and Nancy Edson of Winooski, a brother, John Abar of Barre City and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father.
