WITHERS, BETTY JANE, 76
WITHERS, BETTY JANE, 76, of Newport Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Wheelock, died January 24, in Newport. She was born June 9, 1933, in Glover, the daughter of the late Carroll and Christina (Gilman) Wright. She attended Glover public schools. On May 11, 1952, she married Wayland Wesley Withers in Greensboro. They purchased the family farm and lived there for more than 40 years. In her earlier years, she was employed at a furniture company in Barton. She was a member of the Hope Community Church in Walden and the American Legion Post # 7 Auxiliary in Hardwick. She enjoyed dancing and flowers. Survivors include two sons: Michael Withers of St. Paul, Minn. and George Withers of Marshfield; two daughters: Beverly Withers of St. Johnsbury and Linda Moulton of Marshfield; four brothers: Hazen Wright of Coventry, Aldis Wright of Littleton, N.H., Milo Wright of Glover and Mark Wright of West Glover; two sisters: Nancy LaRose of West Glover and Kay Friend of Bennington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayland in 1994; and four children, Rose LeBlanc, Brenda Montgomery, William Withers and Susan Withers.
