CORLISS, BESSIE GRACE VARNEY, 82
CORLISS, BESSIE GRACE VARNEY, 82, of Hillsboro, N.H., died January 23 at the Concord Hospital. Born in New Haven, Bessie was the daughter of Robert A. and Ruth I. (Grant) Varney. She worked for the Central Vermont Medical Center for many years until she moved to Hillsboro, N.H., and married Norman H. Corliss. He predeceased her in 1993. Bessie was active in many community organizations and church activities. She was especially fond of her volunteer work at the Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School. She is survived by two sons, Michael Ferrari of Belvidere and Douglas Haggett of Brookfield; one daughter, Sandra Getz of Jupiter, Fla.; two sisters, Emma Savard of Merritt Island, Fla. and Theresa Mae Stearns of Montpelier. She was proud of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed sharing photographs of them with everyone she met. Bessie will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
