PERREAULT, CATHERINE ANN, 89


PERREAULT, CATHERINE ANN, 89, a longtime Barre resident, died January 14 at Birchwood Terrace Healthcare in Burlington. Born on Feb. 4, 1920, in Barre, "Kay" was the daughter of Alexander and Bessie (Griffin) MacKenzie. She attended local elementary school and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1938. On Sept. 11, 1946, she married Joseph A. Perreault in St. Monica Church in Barre. Following their marriage, they made their home in Barre, and later for several years in South Burlington, before moving back to Barre. He died on April 24, 1978.  Kay was a homemaker and very devoted to her family. In earlier years, she worked as an operator for New England Telephone Co., as a sales clerk for the Montgomery Ward Store, both in Barre, and with her husband in the operation of The Haven, a snack bar on the Barre-Montpelier Road. She was a longtime member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Stephen Perreault and wife, Nadia, of Barrington, R.I., Robert Perreault and wife, Jean, of Hollywood, S.C., Rick Perreault and wife, Anna, of Colchester, Gregory Perreault and wife, Pam, of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and Denise Taylor and husband, Tim, of Meridian, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Eunice and Doris MacKenzie, and her brother, Robert MacKenzie.
