There is a new support group in Central Vermont! NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Connection is a recovery support group for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding. This free, bimonthly, 90-minute support group is led by trained facilitators who are in recovery themselves. The facilitators understand the challenges of disorders like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and can offer encouragement and support. The meetings are strictly confidential. There is no need to register, just come when you feel you’d like someone to talk to. Please drop by to share your feelings, difficulties, or successes.
Central Vermont Connection will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 6pm at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, in the East Montpelier Room. For more information please contact the NAMI-VT office at 800-639-6480 or email connection@namivt.org. The next meeting will be on Thursday, January 21.
