On behalf of the Friends of the Aldrich Public Library, I want to thank all the people who helped us at our huge Book Sale held during the Barre Heritage weekend at the end of July. Our sincere thanks to the Barre community who supported us in all ways.
We had so many books to sell that many of them were set up inside - partly due to the rainy Friday, but also because we wouldn't have had room for them all on the lawn anyway! What a wonderful problem! Many Friends, husbands, other friends and neighbors, and the Boy Scout troop from the Hedding Methodist Church all helped to set up and take down. Many of you came to browse and left with a big smile and boxes of great books, bought at a wonderful price.
The proceeds from this sale go right back to the library - new books, audio collections, programs for the Children's Library, the Authors at the Aldrich series, the monthly Senior Day programs, etc. We are planning another Book Sale to be held in the Milne Room, downstairs in the library, on October 9, 10, 11, Columbus Day weekend. We will be open on Friday from 2-6pm, Saturday from 10am-3pm, and Sunday from noon-4pm. Please come and support our project and remember, bring in all your used books for us! We are always looking for children's books, too - we sold out this summer!
