Don't Miss "Tune In Tomorrow"

(by Bill Doyle - August 06, 2008)
Editor:

Congrats to Ed Dooly of Mad River Media for his film documentary, "Tune In Tomorrow, A History of WDEV." The film had its first showing at Harwood Union High School.
The film features many interviews including station owner Ken Squires, photographs of WDEV's past and personalities such as Eric Michaels and Mark Johnson. Popular radio shows such as "The Trading Post" and "Music to Go to the Dump By" are also referenced.
The film makes it clear that radio is an important resource for representing different points of view, publicizing local events and covering local issues, governance, schools, and sports.
Because of its emphasis on community radio, WDEV was referred to by a post film panelist as the "farmer's market of radio."
The proceeds of the event were given to the Washington County Fuel Assistance Program.
Viewing the event at Harwood Union was a memorable occasion and is a film you don't want to miss.
The film will be shown on Vermont Public Television on Wednesday, August 6 at 8:00pm.

Bill Doyle
Senator, Washington County
