BROWN, EVA MARIE, 93
BROWN, EVA MARIE, 93, of Cabot, passed away beautifully on June 18 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Eva Marie Rissler in New York City on May 12, 1916, she was the daughter of German immigrants Maximillian and Maria (Jakob) Rissler. She attended chools in New Jersey before graduating from Rutherford, N.J. High School in 1933. In 1941, Eva married Frank Peterson, who was killed a year later in World War II. From 1944 to 1946, Eva served in the Marine Corps and was stationed in Hawaii. In June of 1946, she married Lester Brown, also a WWII veteran, with whom she raised a family and lived a life of mutual devotion and respect until his death in Beach Lake, Pa., in 1991. Eva and Lester were active members of the Beach Lake Methodist Church for many years. Eva moved to Vermont in 1993 to be nearer to her family, and lived independently at "Cabot Commons" with her several neighbors/friends, until her death. Eva is survived by her son Russell Brown and wife Emily Dale, of Cabot; daughter Emily Ann Morgan and son-in-law Michael Morgan of Wableau, Mo.; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands Frank and Lester and her brother Walter Rissler. Eva will be remembered for her outgoing, engaging personality, her sense of humor and her generosity.
