HOLT CLYDE O., 90,


HOLT CLYDE O., 90, of East Montpelier, died June 20 at Central Vermont Medical Center. Born on May 27, 1919 in Marshfield, he was the son of George A. and Ida M. (Martin) Holt. He attended Marshfield School and graduated from Plainfield High School. On July 5, 1945, he married Evelyn M. Shover in Plainfield. They first made their home in Barre until 1949, then moved to East Montpelier. For over 40 years, he worked in the granite industry as a truck driver until his retirement from Granite Center Delivery in Barre. Later, he a drove school bus for several area schools. Clyde was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Marshfield where he had been a song leader and Sunday School Superintendent. He had been a past member of the Barre Fish & Game Club. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Holt and son, Charles Holt both of East Montpelier; his brother, Arthur Holt of Corinth, Maine; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Norman, Ralph, Wallace, and Warren Holt, and sisters, Carrie E. Holt, Nathalie Ferrati, and Gladys Hebert.
