ROBERTI, MARY G., 89


ROBERTI, MARY G., 89, of Barre, passed away on June 19 at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of the late Flory D. McCarthy and Mary (Waterworth) McCarthy. Mary was married on Jan. 13, 1946, in Lawrence to Edmando Roberti. He predeceased her on March 5, 1985. Mary graduated from Lawrence High School in 1937 and the University of New Hampshire in 1941. Following college she was a lab technician at Lawrence General Hospital and later moved to Montpelier, where she taught science at Montpelier High School. For many years she and her husband owned and operated Vermont Flying Service at the Barre-Montpelier Airport. Following her husband's death she continued to operate the business as president and remained active with it and aviation concerns in Vermont until recent years. She was also a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Mary was an avid reader and loved continuing to learn through college courses and travel with the Elder Hostel Programs. Throughout her life she was actively interested in the aviation business and enjoyed lively political discussions. She is survived by her sons, Richard and wife Priscilla, of Marstons Mills, Mass., and John and companion, Patricia Forbes of Barre, and many nieces and nephews.
