COMMO, FAWN HOPE, 57


COMMO, FAWN HOPE, 57, of Waterbury Center, passed away in the comfort of her home and family on June 23, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Montpelier on July 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Patricia H. (Herbert) Sweetser. On March 11, 1967, Fawn married Alfred H. "Tiny" Commo, Jr. in Waterbury. Fawn attended schools in Waterbury and following her marriage, was happy and busy as a homemaker and mother. She later worked in sales at Blodgett Supply in Burlington for six years, then began a 22-year career at Fletcher Allen Health Care, first as a customer service representative, then manager of patient registration, and finally working in computer technology support. Fawn was later employed as the office manager for Montpelier Health Center for several years and then worked in medical records at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury, from which she retired due to declining health. Fawn's memberships included St. Andrew Catholic Church in Waterbury, secretary for the Waterbury 4th of July Committee for eight years and member of the former Montpelier Lion's Club. Well known as an accomplished chef, Fawn also was a talented piano player, having joined with her husband in the Hunger Mountain Band for over 10 years. She and Tiny enjoyed traveling throughout the U. S. and took particular pleasure in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Fawn is survived by her husband of 42 years, Tiny Commo of Waterbury Ctr; their children, Alfred Commo III and companion, Karen Fleming of Moretown, Matthew Commo and wife, Terri of Duxbury, and Jason Commo and companion, Kristin Gwen of Waterbury Ctr; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her sister, April Green and husband, Michael of Waterbury; her brother, Michael Sweetser and wife, Shirley of Burlington; her father-in-law, Alfred Commo Sr. of Montpelier; nieces, nephews and extended family. Fawn was predeceased by a sister, Patsy Bouchard, and her mother-in-law, Gladys Commo.
