MOULTON, GERACOMMO, GLADYS B., 78
COMMO, GLADYS B., 78, of Montpelier, formerly of Waterbury Center, passed away at Central Vermont Medical Center in the comfort of her family on June 8. Born in Bradford, Mass., on June 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (Belaire) Blair. She married Alfred H. "Chick" Commo Sr. on Aug. 31, 1947, in Underhill Center. Gladys attended schools in Haverhill, Mass., and Jericho. Following her marriage she was happy raising her large and loving family and being a homemaker. Her memberships included the Jericho VFW Auxiliary for which she was a charter member and past president, St. Andrew Catholic Church in Waterbury, St. Augustine Church in Montpelier, Emerald Rebekah Lodge #33 of Waterbury and Waterbury Grange #237. Gladys was also a member of the Northeast Fiddlers Association and was a former vice-chairperson and chairperson of the National Traditional Old Time Fiddlers and Step Dancers Assoc. In her leisure time, Gladys enjoyed crocheting. Gladys is survived by her husband, Alfred Commo Sr. of Montpelier; their children, Betty Jean Dow-Griggs and husband Bryan of Orange, Alfred Commo Jr. and wife Fawn of Waterbury Ctr, John Commo and wife Kia of Waterbury Ctr, William Commo and wife Linda of Worcester, Richard Commo and wife Madonna of South Barre, Donald Commo and wife Lynn of East Montpelier, and David Commo of Plainfield; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Hines of Springfield, Fla., Theresa Devoe of Winter Haven, Fla., Ruth Commo of Colchester; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. Gladys was predeceased by an infant daughter, Cheryl Ann Commo, and three brothers, Arthur, Arnold and Ernest Blair.
