I'm pleased to write a letter in support for my friend, Jon Anderson, who's running to retain his current seat in the House of Representatives. Jon was appointed to represent Montpelier early last year, and he represented Montpelier well in the last two legislative sessions. I see in Jon a little independence which is sorely lacking in many elected officials. Jon is, and can be, quite independent, and it showed quite early in his legislative career. If you want a person who blindly votes a "party line," that probably isn't Jon. He's going to analyze every proposal, and make a decision based on merit, not politics. That may upset some people, but his constituents appreciate his thorough review, followed up by a vote on the merits of any proposal. Jon will be running in a Primary Day election in September, so it's important to show up and vote in September, as well as November. I hope my friends and neighbors will join me in voting for Jon Anderson for Representative. If you want some candor, hard work, and intelligent lawmaking, Jon is your man.
